Trafalgar Square:
Named after the British Naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars, Trafalgar Square is a large public space in Charing Cross with the National Gallery on one side. Once famous for its pigeons, the sale of bird feed is now banned and the square is virtually free of them. Regular cultural events are held in the square and, every year, the Norweigan Spruce (a gift from the people of Norway to England) is installed here.
