For the past few decades, London has been used as the backdrop for many famous movies. Popular films such as James Bond and Harry Potter have all been filmed here, with many of the fanciest hotels in the city acting as settings for movie scenes. Today we’re going to discover some of the famous hotels in London, which you might recognise from your favourite movies. While we know that they might be out of your budget for your next London trip, it’s still worth stopping by any of them for a drink or meal during your visit.

Lancaster London

The Italian Job was set in the Lancaster, where Michael Caine is seen living in suite 602. As you can see in the movie, the rooms are absolutely beautiful here, but of course, it’s been refurbished since this time. One of the things we love the most about this hotel is its location near Hyde Park, which our London Bloomsbury hotels are also not far from.

Langhamtel Ho

The Langham Hotel is one of the original hotels in London when it comes to luxury hotels. It’s been seen in many movies over the years, including Burnt and GoldenEye. The refurbishments have helped to make this five-star hotel one of the most popular in the city, which is why celebrities and tourists alike enjoy staying here.

The Ritz

One of London’s most famous hotels is The Ritz, which you might remember from the movie Notting Hill. It was seen in a scene with Hugh Grant and you’ll find the hotel located centrally on Piccadilly. You’ll be just a few minute away from luxury department store Fortnum & Mason or the beautiful Green Park.

London Hilton Park Lane

Many years ago, the London Hilton Park Lane was the setting for Hitchcock’s Frenzy movie. A fun fact about this hotel is that it was the first Hilton establishment in the country, and it was used for actor Jon Finch’s scene meeting an RAF friend. If you want to take a look inside, we recommend booking a meal at Galvin at Windows, which is located on the 28th floor of the hotel.

Other Places to Stay in London

While these are all great hotels to consider for your London adventure, there’s no denying that many of them are too pricey for most tourists. Instead, you could opt to book a meal or go for a drink at these hotels, while staying at somewhere nearby for a lower cost. We have hotels across London, and our Hatton Garden Hotel and Hotel Cavendish are located near to many of these hotels. You’ll still feel like you are living in a movie no matter where you stay in London, and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction to see some of the city’s top movie sites.
